A quick review...

I almost feel embarrassed as I reviewed my last several posts, especially those with the pics of the mess I've made, LOL! Under normal circumstances, I'd never post them anywhere for everyone to see but yesterday I realized that in order to make progress that I can truly see and share... pictures are the quickest way! Besides, a messy studio is a sign of a working artist's studio, right?

I once loved having a large studio to retreat to, until the supplies contained within began to get out of my control of storing them. Some supplies baffle me as to where and how to store them but I'm tackling that and those issues one by one. One day, I'm hopeful to be able to bring in my artist easel, even if I don't set it up. Since it is portable, {and No, I'm no plein-air watercolor artist! just envipis of those who are} I've decided it is easily enough set up to work on as I need it. It will be wonderful to have it to work on with my altered books and collages. It is currently stored in the room upstairs off the attic; a place I don't often venture to as it is normally either too hot or too cold. This time of year, it is definately too hot to even get up there but by the time fall rolls around, I should be ready to get it and various other supplies out of there and into my studio. Something I should have already had mastered.

Several things have lead to that not being accomplished.
  1. I never really got the studio organized the way I originally envisioned it after it was finished in 2004,
  2. the summer of 2005, I set up a booth style boutique elsewhere for over 6 months before returning it all back to my studio,
  3. I never really got around to getting everything re-organized from that move before I began doing crops and a few one on one classes here
  4. several family get- togethers have been hosted in the space adding to some of the dishevelment of my supplies and leftover decorations from those events,
  5. and I've tackled several home remodeling projects that distracted my attention.

By realizing these factors, I'm hopeful that I can avoid some of them in the future! Afterall, it is my studio space! and those I cannot avoid, I'll simply have to find a way around them; at least a better way so that I am not re-arranging my entire studio and life to make them work!
