Opportunities are out there; even in the "unexpected"

Another way in which my life changed recently, if in my ability to jump in and to do something another won't. The scenario was a bit different and occurred within my fiance's business. An employee who wasn't responsible, often calling off at the last minute, obtaining requesting the day off at the last moment, and often lazy and irresponsible when she was working. Well, yesterday, her loss was my gain after she was recently fired.

Upon her loss of a job, "the guys" banded together believing that they could increase their own hours to cover the position the fired employee left behind. It had it's advantages to them in others ways as well by costing them less money and time. Okay, I realize by now, some of my readers are probably wondering what has this got to do with her and her goals and dreams? Which I am about to write about.

I recently mentioned that a dear family friend had pasted away. Since the business in this post is "family owned and operated" and even though "the guys" had made all the necessary preparations to cover the loss of the fired employee, they had fail to plan for that one moment when all of their presence would be required elsewhere such as the showing of this family friend's demise. That is where I saw an opportunity to make some more $$$ to assist me on my own journey, I offered to work in their place while they attended the funeral showing together. "The guys" were happy, their problem was solved, even before they'd realized they had one. I saw a need there and I met it! I offered to work in their place enabling to save the time and effort of finding someone else, therefore helping myself in the process.

What does this have to do with the art of submitting artwork as a possible submission? A lot, if one is to willing to assess it? What do you think is lacking or missing in the magazine? What can you yourself offer that will assist to fill the void? Are you willing to do it? and if so, how soon can you begin doing it? Often those types of opportunities come up, are you looking for them? Are you seeking them out and utilizing them to your fullest advantage? I certainly hope so because I intend to be doing just that!
