After Amber and Alexxis set out for their own home, I spent the next hour or so picking up all the things that a baby needs in order to get their care and needs met. Back into the nursery with the bouncing seat, the swing, the blankets, onsies, socks, and bibs. By the time everything was picked up, straighten up, and put away, I desired nothing more than another cup of coffee ---- nevermind, that it's been sitting for the last 5 hours, I was too tired to make a fresh pot. LOL!
Around 2 p.m., I set out to considering getting myself a bath and dressed, taking Chaos in and out once again. By four o'clock, dressed and ready to go, Don and I were discussing how we'd like to spend his day off. We decided to take a drive and go out to eat dinner! {The perfect plan for this tired and now "running on low energy" grandma...}
Being a beautiful partly cloudy day, I got some wild-brained idea about driving to Wooster to visit the Jaol House, a wonderful little place with some excellent steaks. So we set out driving through the Ontario/Mansfield area, talking and chatting about my newest adventures, dreams, and ideas. I wished I'd hadn't switched purses before leaving and could have made some notes of all my thoughts and ideas as talking them over with Don really help me clarify and focus on my dreams and the goals I need to establish to see them through to fruitation. While discussing them, I decided I wanted to stop into a Party Supply place and a quick trip into Barnes and Nobles. Never before being in the Card outlet/Party supply store before, Don and I took our time to leisurely browse before making our selections and our way to checking out.
Our next stop was into Barnes and Nobles bookstore where I picked up the latest issue of Somerset Studio's Gallery issue. I'm excited that Stampington is now publishing this issue twice a year now vs. their previous once a year issue. The eye candy contained within was absolutely breathing as I quickly flipped through the pages before making my way over the Arts & Craft section in hopes that a book I've been coveting after may just be in stock. To my dismay, it wasn't so I decided to simply wait and place an order for it online before I was tempted to pick up another book off my wishlist. That thought was enough to make me head to the check out counter and towards the door! I could definately do some damage to my checkbook in there!
Leaving Barnes and Nobles, we drove down Fourth Street and decided to pull into to visit with Peggy real quickly at Scrap and Stamp Ink. We arrived shortly after 5 p.m. to discover she'd closed at 5 p.m. From there we decided to drive on over to the Jaol House for dinner.
A little after 6:30 p.m. we finally discovered a parking spot. We'd forgotten about the "Blues" band and Bike shows that are put on there in the street front outside the restaurant on Wednesday nights. Deciding to take our chances, we checked on getting our names on a wait list to be told it would be up to or more than two hours before we'd even get a table but that we could purchase hot dogs and hamburgers outside if we'd like to hang around. Deciding not to wait, we set out to find somewhere else to eat.
Not being real familiar with the Wooster area we just drove east from there, out on the old St. Rt. 30, now dubbed "The Lincoln Memorial Highway". About an half hour later, we stumbled across the Amish Door Restaurant. Deciding that sounded fabulous, we ventured within to enjoy a wonderful salad bar, Amish cooked porch chops, with a side of mashed potatoes, homemade Amish noodles, and rolls. After dinner we browsed the gift shop, were I discovered two wood carved birds to add to my collection of them on our rear deck before setting out homeward bound.
Driving back along St. Rt. 30W, heading back towards Mansfield, we had the setting sun to contend with, so I suggested we make a quick detour into the Charles Mill Park to obtain some camping information and to browse along the lake. The place is beautiful and would make a for a great quiet weekend getaway but there really isn't isn't a lot to see and do other than the beach. Unfortunately, we don't own a boat or a kayak ---which I'd love but Don couldn't do with the Cerebral Palsy he was born with. We'd spend more time in the water than we would in the darn thing as he hasn't got a well established sense of balance. Anyways, we obtained some information for future reference, a quick drive through the park exploring, and we were on our way once again without the sun in our eyes.
We arrived home closer to 10 p.m. to check the answering machine, make a few return telephone calls, before I sunk into the couch to relax. I browsed throught the Somerset Gallery issue, noticed an entire page spread of an online friend, Barbara Smith of the http://smith411.typepad.com/my_weblog/, and totally falling out! {{{Congratulations, Barbara!}}} Within a half hour, I was once again in my pj's --- this time heading for bed and some much needed sleep!
