It takes $$$ to make ART!

ROFLOL! That is what I managed to convince Don of today while shopping at Target. As a business man, I am always hearing the phrase, "It takes $$$ to make $$$." So, I just had to try it! No $$$; No ART! LOL!

We purchased several items out of the "See. Spot. Save" $$$ area --- two white mini-mailboxes --- too adorable! How could I pass those up? One for me and one for Alexxis and Amber. I want to fill them with chocolate and give Amber's to her early so if she'd like to take it to work for her desk, she can do so. Some epoxy stickers, as set of gel pens in Valentine's Day colors...Then, I stumbled upon some black leather desk accessories. I grabbed two 3 drawer containers, a pen/pencil holder, a letter tray, and a magnetic strip with 4 glass topped containers. I'm thinking that they will make some wonderful accessories once the slatwall is in place behind my table. Next stop, Home, Health and Beauty to pick up what I went shopping for in the first place, household and personal necessities.

From there we ventured into the stationery, scrapbook, home office supplies area. We purchased a file holder and hanging folders for current bills, receipts, ect. for our home as our current system isn't working. Not enough room in the desk so this will work perfectly as it sits under the desk, is covered, and important items, papers, and personal papers can be put in our lock box for security and privacy.

Next, was 6 new magazine holders for storing my beloved Somerset Studio magazines --- for the studio! I loved the $1.26 price tag on each of them. From there, I ventured into the Target Cubes that many scrapbookers are purchasing for their scrap spaces, looked and priced, decided I like them but really cannot justify spending on them right now, especially since I'm really uncertain that I need them. However, I did pick up the 9" square cube with two drawer storage, two 3x5 photo frames, a magnetized side, a pen and/or scissor holder, and the top holds accessories. Perfect for tool storing tools close at hand and did I mention it has a lazy susan bottom? This will work well as it requires so little table top space! I also picked up an inexpensive Franklin Covey Weekly planner to add to my Stationery suitcase. Now, I just need to remember to purchase postage stamps when I mail out the ATC swap tomorrow.

After shopping we drove home. No detours, no visiting, no additional shopping. We put our items away, then headed out for an early dinner. I've been cooking and really needed a break from it, so eating out was an excellent solution --- although one we're attempting to cut back on to save some $$$. After eating, we returned home again, and I snuggled up in a throw on the couch and slept for several hours. It seems I'm not quite up to par yet... but I'm listening to my body as it is on the mend!

Upon awakening, I had a nice conversation with Sheila. We made plans for a follow-up telephone call on Tuesday and a possible visit on Wednesday. Perfect for maintaining that sense of balance my life so desperately needs and it provides me some time to relax and enjoy life.

Since it is still early in the evening and I had a wonderful nap today, I'm either heading out to the studio to do a bit more organizing or to the kitchen to work on creating a few more cards. I think the cards are going to win out, as it is damp, rainy, and just plain yucky outside.

And, I am so sorry to bore you with all the little details of my organizing efforts, but writing them down, seeing them posted, is really helping to hold me accountable towards accomplishing those goals. Some artwork, soon, I promise.
