Sometimes, I wonder if I am the only one who does this. I think up an idea for something, in case a theme for a deco, which I wrote out ideas for last night, and in the light of day and just as I'm ready to start running with it, I wonder if I should. Let me explain a little and maybe someone will give me their thoughts, ideas, suggestions, or opinions.
Recently a deco swap was mentioned in a group that I participate often. Since I participated in the last one, I am very eager to participate in this one. Suggestions for themes were asked for so I created a long list taking some ideas from Scrapahoy's circle journey themes, another participant listed some great ones as well. Well, I've had an idea brewing for a theme, originally thinking I'd love to create an altered book using it ---- which I still might. Anyways, back to the deco... I thought of taking a word, providing a definition along with a personal meaning for the theme. I was thinking of providing a variety of tags with short quotes on them, such as, "Standing Up for what you believe in, regardless of the odds against you, and the pressure that tears at your resistance.... takes Courage." Each artist would choose a tag and say they chose the one above... they'd take the word "courage" and portray a memory or a moment in their lives, or what courage means to them personally and visually with pictures and text create a page or two for my deco. They could either incorporate my tag into their artwork or better yet leave them in a pocket and just highlight the "word" that they choose within their pages somewhere. Or maybe I could even make a game of it and see what tag inspired them and invite them to add one of their own within the theme???
Hmmm, maybe I should just pick an easier theme??? and save this one for my altered book??
