Today, I dyed a variety of sizes {2mm, 4mm, and 7mm} silk ribbons that I purchased from the Ribbonsmyth. I loved playing and experimenting with the colors, lighting, darkening, and mixing them. My favorites are the red, a beautiful mango color, and how could I resist that "Whoo-Hoo! Robin's Egg Blue"?

Love the rainbow of colours you created Cathy, yummy indeed :-)
I love the colors! You did a wonderful job with your ribbon dying... You don't use your hot tub for that do you??? LOL Jane
Thanks, Dymphie! After dyeing them, I don't know why I was intimadated to simply "do it!" There is some special effects in quite a few of them as in the way the colors mottled; I love those!
Oh, Jane, ROFLOL! Don would have kicked my butt to your place and back. Although, I bet the steam would work wonderfully....LOL!
I love your ribbons, they are lovely. What di you use to dye them? I have not dyed anything yet.

Marianne,
I purchased my silk ribbons and the microwave dye kit from the ribbonsmyth website. Here's the link to the microwave dyes: http://ribbonsmyth.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=1199
oooh yummy colors!
I love how you have them all on display too!
Beautiful ribbons!!!!!!!!!! I know you had fun. Dyeing ribbons is one of my top favorite "jobs". You have quite a nice variety!!!
Thank you, Pat. Coming from the "queen of silk ribbon dyeing" I take that as a wonderful compliment! *smiles* {Now if I can just get the hang of fabric transfers --- but that's and entirely new post!}Having a range of colors to work with was my goal with this order since I am working to build a small stash of them. I'm a bit excited to add some SRE to some more of my projects and these will assist me while learning!
Yum! I love your colors. Great Job! I love to dye my ribbons also. I may just have to jump into it and do some dyeing today. You have motivated me!
