After posting earlier this morning, I checked my email quickly and headed for the shower. After pampering myself by slathering on some body quench lotion, towel drying my hair, applying some root lift {yes, my hair is thining as I age -thank you very much!}, and running my fingers through it to liven it up some, I considered curling it. I quickly decided that would be a waste of my time, afterall, who's going to actually see me? Quickly getting dressed, I put my shoes on my feet, and after dodging the dog, I finally made it out the door and into the studio. Ahhhh, pure bliss! {Okay, if only it was for a split second before I realized the work that lay ahead of me, LOL!}

I tackled removing my Sizzix and the three towers out of from under the cabinet and established a home for them on the top of the countertop prior to moving to the mess on the tables centerally located within the space. I discovered some odd bits of embellishment lying around on the table and group those all in one pile, setting them aside to make room for the three drawer containers that contain a variety of tags, adhesives, and radiant pearls, primary elements and my beloved Twinklin' H2O's. I work quickly reorganizing and removing anything that didn't belong, straightening each drawer and re-arranging as I worked. With approximately 15 minutes I had that task completed and the drawers back in the bookcase --- where they belong! {oh, happy day!}

Next, I moved on to the embellisments... dragging back out the clear acrylic containers I had worked so diligently on yesterday. After sorting through the remanents of embellishments that sort of got left behind, I found a home for them within. I'm certain as I move things back out to the studio from the house, this will be one of many attempts at this.

It wasn't soon after that I spotted the pile of ribbon still on the table from my beginning sort through of the day before. Yes, I'd worked on putting smaller bits and pieces on the bobbins but whatever in the world was I going to do with all these damn spools? I grabbed the Highsmith drawers that I knew contained even more ribbon yet wouldn't hold any that was lying out on the table. My mind quickly turned to the thought of "what do I a lot of that I can utilize to get this problem under control?" I was excited to find a package of popsicle sticks left over from some unknown project... hmm, possibly when I assisted as a girl scout leader when my own, dd, Amber was in grade school, perhaps. Anyways, they would be perfectt! so I set about winding all the spools around them --- and I am still in the process of doing that. I considered dumping all the spools into a box, grabbing the popsicle sticks, and taking it all into the house to be worked on while I watched TV, but quickly realized a few other things. I don't watch that much TV; I really didn't desire to drag something else into the house to be returned to the studio later, and neither would get this under control NOW! So, I set out to twirling! No, not the fun "twirling" just to be having fun, feeling the sun on your face, the wind in your hair, or your barefeet in the grass kind-of-twirling, the winding, twisting kind of sorting and organizing ribbon type of twirling! As I worked, I wondered why my artist friends never mentioned just how much fun this was to see yet another spool as you near the last section of it to be wound? Or why they never mentioned just how pretty these look after you've completed quite a bit of them? Or evenly more importantly, just how fun it was to throw the empty spools into the trash?! I even made a few more painful discoveries: It sucks to drop one when in mid-stride and it creates the need to start over once again, LOL!

Okay, breaks over..... its time to tackle yet another drawer and get back to twirling.... {*smiles}
