After talking with Patty, feeling warm and fuzzy, I realized I could assist Patty some simply by making a quick stop at her mother's to inform her of our change of plans since she is also assisting us and Patty was at work. Knowing she'd need to contact her on her break and knowing how hard she works, I decided to go out of my way to this for her to make her life a bit easier. So, after Don arrived home from work and we we're getting ready to go out of town for my office supply shopping list and a personal trip combined, I stopped to talk to Patty's mom. She said that those changes would work better for her as she is so not a morning person. We chatted for a bit and afterwards, I telephoned Patty back to inform her that all was taken care of. She thanked me and told me I just made her day! Thinking to myself, I quickly said, "No my friend, you complete mine!" and Patty and I laughed. {See her public relations skills are an asset! I just need to utilize them more in my dealings with others.}
Don and I set out to visit The Container Store, laughing, chatting, discussing and resting up as we drove to Easton Towne Center. I was armed with my list and had only a few things I desired to see if I could find while in the area. Around 5:15 p.m. we arrived at The Container Store and browsed a bit before setting off to get the necessities I needed. I found everything on my list, plus some! I decided to splurge a bit on one item, even though I knew I could save myself some money on them by simply going to an office supply store. Anyways, I went ahead and purchased two packages of six office file folders in a bright green and electric colored aqua blue because I knew how cool they'd look in my office area and the use I intended for them was just as special. Those folders would be labelled with the names of the Publications I intend to submit artwork to. The were special to me and the warranted something special. Inside I'll place all the required information that I'll need to refer to often and then place the current calls I intend to answer within them. Of course the info will be rotated as I work and the submission are sent out but this assists to establish them as a high priority item as I work to complete them.
Other items I picked up were 3 more of the acrylic jewelry divider boxes. I got on in a 12, another in an 18, and one in a 24 compartment size. I've been using these acrylic divided jewelry boxes to store my embellishments in for years now. I love the fact that they are acrylic, I can see directly to what is contained within each without ever having to open the lids, and they are stackable! When I decided to put one of my two bookcases in the studio together, I made certain that I could fit 12 of these babies in one shelf side by side. Now I finally have the other three I needed finishing out the 12 I had originally desired. Besides, that I know have the additional storage I truly have been in dire straights of and can clear some of those things piled up off my work tables. Definately a win-win situation! Besides the cool new files, I also grabbed a desktop, in-my- face style, file holder to hold those special folders.
I also found the 4x6 clear acrylic recipe style box with the lid that I'd placed on my wishlist a few months ago. I loved that when I first saw it, thinking it would be big enough to store 4 1/2 x 5 1/2 cards in. If I wasn't trying to keep my costs down just a bit, I'd have probably picked up another one! But now I know where they are and can always purchase one later. {wink}
Talking about additional purchases.... anyone who knows me personally, knows one thing about me... I love to shop! and that office supplies have always fascinate me. I could spend hours in a stationery, office supply store. If it has to do with "paper" I'm on it! Let's just say, that I put a few items on a new wishlist ---- they weren't necessities but cool things I'd like to have later. I found one of them online a while ago and was shocked to find it in The Container Store and available to me. I'll post a picture of the one online discovery soon.
Upon leaving The Container Store armed with all my two bags of goodies and arriving at the truck, I had to groan a bit. LOL! Why do I do this to myself? I am so used to the Jeep Cherokee that is dire need of repairs and not available to us, that I didn't think about how much smaller Don's Ford Ranger is... so her I am in the parking lot trying to reorganize the way the cashier bagged up my purchases so that they'd fit into one bag and placed on the floorboard of the truck. I managed to get that accomplished but now have to crawl over the seat, sit down, and put my feet over near the gear shift! LOL, I'm certain I was a sight to see, but oh well, mission accomplished.
