I woke up early this morning around 4:30 a.m. and since I tend to toss, turn, and not get back to sleep, I decided I may as well brew myself a fresh pot of coffee. Hmmm, it smells great! There is nothing quite like the smell of coffee, especially that first cup of the day! That whiff of aroma that escapes as I open the can as I begin to prepare the coffee maker, those first few brewed drops as they run into the carafe, and that first cup of warm liquid are definately heaven sent and such an eye-opener. Holding my warm cup of coffee, still in my jammies and robe, I looked out the back window and the sky is amazing this morning! While a little bit of nighttime still lingers, I see some grey clouds streaked with pink and blue stripes and a hint of light on the northern horizion. Unfortunately, the window faces north and the hot tub area on the rear deck blocks some of my morning view. There is wet dew still on the rear deck and having barefeet I decide against venturing outside to watch the sun come up.
Silly me, I turn around and tried to capture a picture of my Christmas medallion which is sitting on the rear kitchen table. I must have really been more asleep than awake because if you take, okay, even attempt to take a picture of a piece of artwork that is created with layers of cardstock what do you think you'll get? Well, I'll give you a hint... POP Dots!!! So, I lay the camera back down and decide I really need to wake up!
I return to the view in my backyard and remember that as I hooked Chaos up outside first thing yesterday morning there was a baby squirrel attempting to get back up into the pine tree. I smiled as I remembered it and laughed outloud. It was so adorable to watch that little guy! It would back up into the grass approximately a foot from the trunk of the tree and run with all it's might, jumping on the trunk of the tree to only make it up about a foot up the trunk. Then, down it would come again to repeat the procedure and on it's approximately tenth attempt finally backed up about five feet and ran like crazy making it back into the tree. I felt a sense of accomplish from just observing it, LOL! It reminded me to always keep trying and of that quote that says something about climbing out on a limb because that is where the best fruit is. Feeling warm fuzzies, I make my way in to the living room and get on the computer.
I browsed 2P's for a bit and gpt lost in blogland. Think about sneaking out to the studio to work on the re-organizing a bit when I change my mind believing it's really too early to challenge my mind with all that clutter. I think I'll just dwell in the possiblities of "what if" instead; knowing that all good things come to those who wait and everything has it's own rhythm. I decide to linger in the moment a little bit longer.
The house is so very quiet this morning. Chaos awakes only to make it as far as the living room loveseat where he decides it is much to early for him as he yawns, stretches, and turns around three times before finally laying down on the floor in front of the loveseat. My mind begins to race again as I think of all I could be doing and getting a jumpstart on, but I decide to be quiet, disturb anyone else, and chase those thoughts away. It's too early to think about any of that and surely the time will be here all to fast to be doing instead of enjoying! {sigh...}
