Working away...

Since I had the majority of my afternoon free after the haircut and color appointment fell through, I decided to get a jump start on reaching some of my goals in the studio. And yes, I left the pesty telephone in the house to avoid any distractions, for I was on a mission! LOL!

I made it to the studio armed with a large trash bag, broom, and dust pan. Upon arriving, I decided to clear out my desk area of any creative supplies allowing me to establish this area for business supplies only. I took out my disk to install the printer to the studio computer and noticed I'd misplaced the power cord so I started a list of items I needed to hunt down, make due with, and one for items to purchase. I found my scanner, usb cable, power cord and discovered that I had requested a longer USB cable from my computer repairman and it was currently in use in the house so I made a note to myself to swap those two out and to bring the software to install it out to the studio. I cleared out and totally re-arranged the area before dusting, sweeping, and then looking at what I currently owned that could go back into the space. From there, my shopping list of items I needed to purchase were gone over and once again a few things added.

I decided to use a Hallmark Card Organizer for submissions only. Already containing folders labelled in the months of the year and other folders for specific cards was an additional plus. Feeling the need to establish the card organizer as a business tool, I set out to creating a label for it using a luggage/label tag holder in which I designed a cardstock base in a co-ordinating color scheme and wrote "Submission Only" storage on it and attached it to the front lower right corner. Just doing that small task gave me a sense of pride and will assist to keep me on track.
