CED ~ 2008 - Together we can accomplish anything....

I didn't do any quilting, instead I did something CRAZIER! While laying my quilted throw on the back kitchen table, I looked out the window and saw this. 'Come on.... I'll introduce you to my "newest" best friend, Bessie.

First, I had to check out her spark plug, pour in some liquid gold, aka gasoline, and pull her handle back before I could pull on her throttle. Once I got her started up, we took a stroll through our back yard and together we mowed over half of our little acre.

You see our riding lawn mower has been in the shop for the past three weeks but somehow we've managed to keep the grass green and the lawn mowed. The past several days, my hubby, Don has had his hands all over Bessie, fixing this and fixing that, and mowing and mowing and mowing. Well, I felt a little guilty as I started to sit down and enjoy myself, so I hooked Chaos up to his cable and got to work!

As Bessie and I strolled quietly over the lawn, a curious robin paid us a visit, I noticed how loaded our Bradford pear tree is this year, and I got to enjoy both a workout and a whole lot of sunshine!

This is how our yard looked when I finally decided to stop, run into the house, get Chaos back into the A/C, and sat down with a cold bottle of water. After resting up just for a bit, making a telephone call to my sis, I headed out to the kitchen to whip up us an Oreo pie for dessert tonight. While I was in the kitchen, I figure I may as well try some of this:

I'm not usually a big fan of cold pasta salads, but I believe the heat of the day sort of got to me, and when our grocery had these for 10/$10 I decided to try a few. So, I grabbed the box of the Italian style and began cooking. I don't know about you but adding 3 T. of water and 2 T. of oil to a Italian seasoning mix, just didn't seem like the tastiest thing to do, so after rummaging around in the fridge, I came up with adding an additional Tablespoon or two of sour cream, 1/2 cup of diced tomatoes, and a 1/4 cup of a diced Viadahlia onion, sprinkled on some bacon bits and am letting it chill.

While I was typing up this post, my dear hubby telephoned to say, he's going to go check on our rider. Lord in heaven, this I pray, please return our rider, so I don't have to do this another day!

{*smiles and waves*}

Hi Cathy :)

Thank you for coming by!

Your post cracked me up. I thought you were going to tell him not to worry about the ride on mower because you liked mowing the grass LOL

Cathy, this gave me the biggest chuckle as I can feel your pain! I've got nearly an acre, too and for about 2 years, I always used the push mower! My riding mower (Jarno-after the Formula 1 driver) quickly became my summer sweetie! Hope your summer sweetie is home, soon!
